| TreeTrimmer is an easy to use, high speed, file name editor and renaming utility. It will allow you to change the file names of a few or many thousands of file names in a single directory, or a large nested tree of directories. You can number files uniquely, un-number them, remove unwanted characters from the front or back of a file name, replace or add underscore or hyphens instead of space characters, or remove numbers that have been appended to the front or back of a file name. Music files that have been added to your library by iTunes often have an index number annoyingly appended to the file name. TreeTrimmer easily removes those index numbers in even the largest libraries. Modern digital cameras name your pictures with phrases like IMG001 to IMG243. The trouble is, since these file names are always the same, whether it was the photos you took on your vacation to Maui, or the Christmas party last year, you can't upload those files to the same folder without overwriting some of them due to duplicate file names. The vacation pictures are easily renamed to Maui001 to Maui243 and the party pictures to Christmas_2018_001 to Christmas_2018_123 in just a few seconds.
