Scooteroogle.com was incorporated in December of 2018 as a result of probable over exuberance
at the Trump tax cuts, improvement in the business outlook in the country,
and the discovery of the cause of a failure within the SoundsGood
code to compile as a result of Apple's changes to OSX.
The principal developer at scooteroogle.com, a retired software engineer, has been writing code
since 1968 and finds it rewarding to continue to get things to work even after retiring.
SoundsGood, initially begun in 2009, was envisioned as a software implementation of the
360Systems' InstantReplay device which allowed access to
100 digital sound effects at a time from front panel pushbuttons.
During the course of development, a large sound effects library of nearly 22,000 files was
obtained for testing. The library contained many directory
levels and necessitated development of a
high speed directory traversal algorithm to search the directories to create the front panel pushbuttons.
Additionally, it was noted that many of the sound effects file names were either too long
to fit on the pushbuttons, or had other file naming problems
but there were simply too many files to edit manually.
The need to deal with those file names resulted in the subsequent development of TreeTrimmer.
